Besides the embroidery, I did do some other crafting this weekend. I found this easy heart wax paper project in the February issue of Martha Stewart Living.
Basically, you cut out (or use a heart-shaped hole punch- that's what I did) a bunch of hearts out of tissue paper, and sandwich them in between wax paper. Iron over them a couple of times and you've got some wax paper hearts! I used a sewing needle and a strand of embroidery floss to string them together.
I had to do some trial and error...after ironing for what felt like forever, I realized I needed to put the wax side up of the wax paper under the hearts, and the wax side down on top of the hearts. Then the waxiness would melt into the hearts. After figuring that out, I made hundreds of them!
I hung some from our chandelier in our dining room and I even made a sort of mobile out of them for the schoolroom in the basement. It's kind of addictive.
